New York Council of Nonprofits presented this webinar on August 7, 2024 – When a nonprofit asks a board or staff member to serve as an ambassador it may be for a specific purpose, such as chatting with invitees at a gala or other event, or as a way to participate in overall fund development efforts. Often, we also envision effective ambassadors for informal and unplanned occasions — chatting with a friend, family member, neighbor, or colleague at the grocery store, a barbecue, a cocktail party, or in an elevator. This webinar explored what a nonprofit can best seek from its ambassadors, and how to help people succeed in this role. Attendees were asked to discuss their organization’s efforts to develop effective ambassadors, and the lessons they have learned.
