Professional Development Scholarships
The Dyson Foundation offers individual program scholarships to Mid-Hudson Valley organizations interested in professional development opportunities for staff and board members. Professional development scholarships are available toward nonprofit finance, grantsmanship, and executive leadership programs to support nonprofit board and staff development and retention.
Eligibility:
Scholarships are available to current nonprofit staff and active board members of established 501(c)(3) Mid-Hudson Valley-based nonprofit organizations who are responsible for fiscal management and oversight; executive or governance leadership; and/or resource development. Priority is given to human service, safety net, and youth development providers. A limited number of scholarships are available annually, and there is a general limit of one scholarship per program, per organization.
Professional development scholarships are available for:
- BDO’s Certified Nonprofit Accounting Professional (CNAP) training programs
- Certified Nonprofit Accounting Professionals – Essentials
- Advanced Topics in Nonprofit Fiscal Management – *Advanced
*requires Essentials certification
To request CNAP or Grantsmanship Center scholarships, please contact Jennifer Killian, Program Officer. In your email, please include your name, title, organization, preferred training session dates, and confirmation of the following requirements:
- Commitment to completing the full course and all coursework
- Commitment to continue your role in the organization/the nonprofit sector
To inquire about scholarship availability and eligibility, please contact the Hudson Valley Center for Nonprofit Leadership directly. Each program’s duration and schedule vary.
- New York Council of Nonprofits Executive Leadership Retreat
- 3-day, overnight training for executive directors with less than five years of experience in the role
- Offered annually, Spring and Fall
