Upper Hudson Planned Parenthood is a critical provider of sexual and reproductive health services, education, and advocacy. It is the only provider of abortion services in Columbia and Greene counties, and one of very few providers of contraceptives and testing and treatment for sexually transmitted infections (STIs). More than three quarters of UHPP patients are between 19 and 34 years old, and over half have incomes below the federal poverty level. Two-thirds of UHPP patients identify it as their only healthcare provider. No patient is turned away for an inability to pay.
Key Programs:
- Hudson Health Center – Open five days per week, the center offers a comprehensive range of sexual and reproductive healthcare services including birth control, cancer screenings, testing and treatment of STIs and urinary tract infections, miscarriage care, abortion services, and transgender services. Recently added services include in-clinic abortion services, high-complexity gynecological care, menopause care, and behavioral health care.
- Outreach & Education – UHPP’s Education Team connects with Columbia County residents both in person and virtually, and works with local schools to provide sexual health education and resources to youth.
