Dyson Foundation Board Approves New Grants - June 2017

 

At its most recent meeting in June 2017, the Foundation’s Board of Directors approved over $1,354,000 in new grants to 38 different organizations. Major grants included:

Cornell Cooperative Extension of Ulster County
Kingston, NY
Grant Amount: $102,500
Project Term: 2017 – 2019
Continued multi-year support for the Relatives as Parents Program (RAPP), which provides support, education, and other services to grandparents and other relatives who are primary caregivers for children.

Exodus Transitional Community, Inc.
New York, NY
Grant Amount: $105,000
Project Term: 2017 – 2019
A two-year grant towards a transitional housing program for people returning to Poughkeepsie after incarceration.

Girl Scouts Heart of the Hudson
Pleasantville, NY
Grant Amount: $150,000
Project Term: 2017 – 2019
Renewed support for non-traditional programming for girls from Dutchess, Orange, Putnam, and Ulster Counties.

Hudson Hall
Hudson, NY
Grant Amount: $110,000
Project Term: 2017 – 2019
Multi-year support towards the Community Arts Program activities, which include a variety of free year-round programs and events, many of which focus on children and youth.

Mid-Hudson Children’s Museum
Poughkeepsie, NY
Grant Amount: $235,000

Towards outreach and educational programming on sexual and reproductive health in Putnam County.

Towards the operation and maintenance of Upper Landing Park by the Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation.
