Dyson Foundation Board Approves New Grants - March 2012

At its most recent meeting in March, 2012, the Foundation’s Board of Directors approved over $3,700,000 in new grants to 101 different organizations.  Major grants included:

Grant Amount: $300,000
 
Project Term: July 2012 – June 2015
 
Continued multi-year scholarship support for students from the Mid-Hudson Valley counties of Columbia, Dutchess, Greene, Orange, Putnam, and Ulster.
 
 
 
Girl Scouts Heart of the Hudson
 
Pleasantville, NY
 
Grant Amount: $180,000
 
Project Term: April 2012 – September 2013
 
Renewed support for non-traditional programming for girls from Dutchess, Orange, Putnam, and Ulster Counties.
 
 
 
Hands On! The Hudson Valley
 
Hyde Park, NY
 
Grant Amount: $110,000
 
Project Term: April 2012 – December 2014
 
Continued support for the long-term care ombudsman program, which trains and certifies volunteers to be advocates for residents of nursing and adult-care homes.

Multi-year funding towards the SafetyNet program, which provides transportation, home visiting, case management, and home-bound counseling to medically frail adults in Orange County.

Multi-year funding for the Food Share program, through which Poughkeepsie Farm Project distributes its produce to low-income residents.
